Multimedia/Video Production Services

Media Services production staff can also assist Eastern faculty, staff and students with educational, and non-commercial informational/promotional multimedia/video production projects. Please contact Lisa Houghtaling at (860) 465-0276 to discuss your production needs.

Media Services staff have extensive multimedia production skills including both field and studio based videography, editing, audio production, digital imaging and media authoring. We support many applications including the following:

  • Avid Media Composer
  • Adobe AfterEffects
  • Audacity

Media Services will videotape campus events as requested in advance by Eastern faculty and staff. Requests for event recording must be submitted by email at least two weeks in advance of the event to ensure that adequate personnel and equipment is available.

The person requesting the event recording must specify the exact campus location, date, and time of the event to be videotaped. If a guest speaker or lecturer is involved, the request or must secure a written video recording release from the speaker & submit to Media Services prior to the event.Click link below to download form.

While student organization event recording services are not available, students may borrow recording equipment, and we can provide training on the equipment.

Recorded Events with restriction for online distribution

Campus events that Media Services records are distributed on the University’s YouTube channel as well as on our educational cable access channel, Charter Communications 195.

In addition, the Archives and Special Collections department offices an inventory of previously recorded events that we are not able to distribute online. Faculty, staff, and students may visit the Library Archives department and use on of their viewing statins to watch content.

Library Archives is located in the J. Eugene Smith Library, room 420. Office hours are Monday – Friday 9am – 12pm and 1pm – 4pm
