Liberal Arts Core Curriculum Course Submissions

Applications to approve courses for the Liberal Arts Curriculum (LAC) can now be made to the Liberal Arts Program and Curriculum Committees.

Departments will submit new course proposals or course modifications employing the appropriate Curriculum Committee forms. Downloadable forms are available at:

All materials must be submitted by noon the previous Friday before the LAPC meets, to the LAPC secretary, Ms. Cheryl Le Beau.  One e-file must be sent to, and three hard copies (one of which must be the signed original, and please do not print double sided) must be mailed or delivered to Ms. Le Beau at: Depts. of Mathematical Sciences and Computer Science, SCI 168.

Departments must submit appropriate LAC forms, which are available at:  As required for all proposed and existing LAC courses, syllabi must include LAC tier and category outcomes and identify where these outcomes are assessed.

Major programs may request that a course within their discipline or area of study be substituted for a Liberal Arts Core Curriculum (LAC) category requirement. Up to two LAC categories, not including First Year Introduction (FYI 100) or Tier III category, may be satisfied. The course substitution form is available at:
