School of Arts and Sciences

  • We are seeking a dynamic, student-centered nursing educator committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service, and dedicated to preparing ethical, accountable, and diverse healthcare professionals through a liberal arts framework. Our growing program currently has opportunities in pediatric, psychiatric, leadership, community, geriatric, maternity and evidence-based practice nursing. The department of Health Sciences and Nursing is committed to fostering an inclusive, collaborative learning environment that prepares graduates to meet evolving healthcare needs. Faculty are expected to support innovation in nursing education and contribute to the continued development of a high-quality baccalaureate program. 

    The primary responsibility of Eastern Connecticut State University's Health Sciences and Nursing Department faculty is teaching across didactic, clinical, laboratory, and simulation settings, with a workload expectation of 12 FLCs per semester, while also serving the department through curriculum development, nursing and health science research, program and student evaluation, academic advising, and participation in professional service activities. Faculty are evaluated yearly on teaching, service, research and creative activity, and professional activity. 

    Minimum Qualifications: 
    • Unencumbered RN license (CT eligible by start date)
    • Doctorate in Nursing (PhD, EdD, or DNP, DNE)
    • Minimum of 5 years clinical nursing experience in relevant clinical area
    • Minimum of 1 year teaching experience within academic nursing education

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Certified Nurse Educator (CNE)

  • QUALIFICATIONS:
    PhD in Chemistry is required. The ideal candidate should have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and experience teaching General Chemistry Lectures and Laboratories. Ability to instruct other advanced chemistry courses and experience with STEM education preferred.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    • This position provides instruction in courses required for students majoring in Biochemistry, Biology, Environmental Earth Science, Health Sciences and Nursing.
    • Teaching responsibilities will include 12 load credits per semester teaching lecture and lab courses in general chemistry.

School of Education and Professional Studies

  • The Department of Accounting and Business Information Systems is seeking qualified applicants for a Lecturer or Visiting Assistant Professor position in Information Systems beginning [Fall/2026]. This is a one-year, full-time position that has the potential for renewal based on performance and department needs. 

    Qualifications: 

    • A master’s degree in information systems or a closely related field (PhD preferred but not required).
    • Industry or teaching experience in Information Systems at the undergraduate level.

Athletics

  • POSITION SUMMARY:
    The Head Athletic Trainer provides strategic leadership and clinical oversight for a comprehensive athletic training program supporting varsity and club sport student-athletes. The role supports organization and administration of sports medicine services, coordination of services with other sports medicine professionals, NCAA health and safety compliance, and athletic healthcare policy development. Minimum travel is required, although night and weekend work may be required. The successful candidate will have a major influence on future student-athlete wellness initiatives. This is a full-time, 12-month position, reporting to the Director of Athletics.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    *Master’s degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Healthcare Administration or a related field
    *Licensed in the State of Connecticut as an athletic trainer
    *Board of Certification (BOC) ATC Credential
    *Minimum of five years of athletic training experience

  • Eastern Connecticut State University’s Women’s Lacrosse team is looking for a part-time Assistant Coach. This position is located onsite in Willimantic, CT. You will report to the Head Coach of the Women's Lacrosse team.

    What you'll do:

    • Participate in the leading and implementing the preseason and season practices. Help monitor conditioning programs
    • Provide input to the evaluation of the athlete's performance and progress. Evaluate opponents' performance and scouting. Ensure the best performance of athletes during games
    • Assist in recruiting prospective student athletes
    • Attend practices, games, and our spring training trip
    • Participate in planning for events including fundraising or other special functions
    • Help manage our social media accounts
    • Other responsibilities as assigned

    The position, governed by the rules and regulations of the NCAA and of Eastern, requires working with the Head Coach in all facets of the program. You must develop a working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

    The Assistant Coach may drive the team van to and from contests and pre-season practice or tournaments so a Valid Driver's License is required.

  • Eastern Connecticut State University is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach. This position is a part-time 10 month contract.

    Under the supervision of the Athletic Director and the Head Coach, assistant coaching duties will be assigned by head coach and will include administration, coaching, and recruiting for the ECSU Men’s Lacrosse program

    1. Support head coach in ensuring that all matters related to the team’s student-athletes adhere to NCAA and Little East Conference rules and regulations
    1. Provide a climate in which participating athletes can strive for individual and group improvement and excellence
    1. Participate in coordinating, strategy, and planning meetings of the coaching staff
    1. Instruct student-athletes about skills and execution needed to perform the sport of lacrosse effectively and competitively
    1. When needed, maintain an active role in the recruitment of student-athletes, including: identification of prospective student-athletes and participation in the on-campus recruiting process
    1. Contribute to a positive work climate and the team effort within the school, as well as demonstrate positive sportsmanship in everyday situations
    1. Establish and maintain a professional demeanor with student-athletes, parents, staff, guidance counselors, the community, and the media
    1. Perform other duties and responsibilities in addition to those enumerated above which do not alter the basic level of responsibility of the position.

Counseling and Psychological Services

  • Position Description: Full-time staff 10-month position in the office of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). The Center provides services that include individual and group counseling; crisis intervention; consultation to staff and faculty members; outreach services; and training of Master's and Doctoral-level practicum students.

    Counselor will provide individual and group counseling / psychotherapy; complete intake evaluations; crisis intervention; supervise graduate level practicum students; provide training and community outreach services. Participate in university committees and activities. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services.

Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the lived experience BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ young adults or students, particularly in predominantly white institutions.  Experience providing culturally proficient clinical services to diverse and underrepresented populations, reflecting an understanding of the ways in which race, ethnic identity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, privilege and oppression affect therapeutic service delivery.

Part-time Faculty Positions

  • This position is part of an ongoing recruitment process within the Department of Business Administration to develop a pool of qualified applicants. Qualified candidates will be reviewed on a rolling basis and contacted directly by the Department Chair as needs arise. This position is a semester-by-semester appointment. Courses will be taught in person on the Eastern Connecticut State University campus.

  • Under the Supervision of the Recreation Specialist, the Men’s Ice Hockey Coach performs the following responsibilities: 

    1. Adhere to the policies and guidelines set forth by the University, the Office of Student Activities and the Athletic Department. 
    2. Establish conditioning and training programs to physically and mentally prepare the participants for competition.  Provide a schedule (practices/games) and information on any tournament competition in advance to the Associate Athletic Director and Assistant Director of Student Activities.  
    3. Attend all practices and contests except under prior arrangement. 
    4. Be attentive to student needs, concerns and potential problems. 
    5. Employ a sense of fair play encouraging the development of skills and recognizing the importance of active student participation. 
    6. Develop and employ safety standards; inspect equipment and facilities for potential safety problems prior to use. 
    7. Recognize, along with participants, potential health or injury problems and counsel as necessary. 
    8. Promote participant responsibility in the display of proper conduct, and promotion of good sportsmanship, both on and off the field. 
    9. Ensure compliance with any conference, league or union rules governing eligibility, competition, and financial obligations. 
    10. At all times, display the proper image befitting that of a coach and/or instructor and representative of Eastern and the Department. 

    Coach Administrative Policies 

    • Assist the Club officers with their assigned responsibilities and review and maintain team roster. 
    • Assure that all Club financial obligations are met (league membership, officials' fees, etc.) 
    • Maintain complete inventory records of all Club equipment and uniforms. 
    • Keep records of all transactions involving Club accounts and Club budgets and provide accountability on use of all funds. 
    • At the end of each fiscal year in cooperation with club officers, submit an accurate itemized budget to the appropriate SGA Committee for the following year, and be prepared to defend the proposal. 
    • Other Duties as assigned  

    Preferred Qualifications:  

    • 2 – 5 years of hockey coaching experience. 
    • Certified coach under USA Hockey and must meet ACHA qualifications 
    • Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills 
    • Experience with Microsoft office. 
    • Knowledge of USA Hockey safety rules and regulations, NECHA, and ACHA policies and procedures. 
    • Knowledge of all aspects of program management including budgeting, recruiting, scheduling, staff supervision, travel planning. 
    • Experience coaching at the collegiate level

    Requirements:  

    • Moderate experience with athletic coaching, collegiate playing, or other related experience 
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive a university-owned or rented van.

    HPE 312 Group Dynamics in Health Education (course meets on campus Wednesdays, 4:00pm - 6:45pm)  3 credits

    Course description: This course provides participants with an opportunity to study how to implement group theory and related group dynamics to promote health education. Through various health topics and issues, students will be introduced to group theory, group dynamics, interpersonal interactions, effective group participation, group facilitation and leadership styles to help them develop the skills needed to work effectively with small groups to promote health education.

    Qualifications: Applicants must have at least 10 years of experience in P12 Health and Physical Education.  High school health is preferred.  Applicants must have a master's degree or higher in Health and Physical Education (or related field) from a regionally accredited institution.  Teaching assignments are part-time, on a semester basis only, and are dependent on student enrollment and department needs.  Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

    • Teach 3-credit course on campus consistently during the scheduled time;
    • Prepare lectures, projects, homework, assessments, and other student assignments that align with the course syllabus;
    • Grade all student work in a timely manner;
    • Must be able to organize and set up typical health equipment;

  • The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking part-time faculty for Fall 2026.     BIO 305 – Animal World explores the animal kingdom, ranging from microorganisms to mammals.     HPE 441 Teaching, Organization and Administration of Elementary Physical Education (course meets Wednesday 4-5:15 PM (Lecture) and then in the public school Physical Education Classes (Lab) throughout the week as scheduled.  3 credits.

    Course Description: This is a senior seminar course taken by undergraduate teacher certification candidates in health/physical education immediately prior to the student teaching semester. Planning, organizing, administering, and conducting a program of physical education in the elementary school. The lecture portion covers the scope and sequence of skill themes and movement concepts in the elementary school program. The seminar course lab portion is conducted in an elementary school setting under the direction of a certified Physical Education Teacher who teaches in that school.  Teacher candidates will observe, plan, teach, and assess P-6 students in the classroom under the supervision of the course instructor.

    Qualifications: Applicants must have at least 10 years of teaching experience in P-6 Physical Education. Applicants must have a master’s degree or higher in physical education (or related field) from a regionally accredited institution.  Teaching assignments are part-time, on a semester basis only, and are dependent on student enrollment and department needs.  Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

    • Teach 3-credit course on campus consistently during the scheduled time;

    Job Overview:

    Eastern Connecticut State University, Department of Environmental Earth Science, is seeking a qualified, adjunct instructor to teach Health/Safety-Hazardous Waste (EES 423) during the spring 2026 semester.  The instructor is responsible for the supervision, instruction, and evaluation of students enrolled in the course.  The content taught for the course must satisfy the OSHA 40-hour off-site training requirements in hazardous materials safety standards (HAZWOPER; 29 CFR 1910.120).

    • Specific to conducting 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training: the course shall provide students with all content necessary to satisfy current OSHA 40 certification requirements such as: hazard materials recognition and properties, toxicology and chemical exposure, air monitoring, protective clothing and equipment, decontamination, and health and safety programs/plans.
    • Students who successfully complete the course shall become OSHA 40 certified.
    • When and where possible, the instructor should use various teaching methods, including interactive exercises, demonstrations, real-world case studies, and hands-on activities/experiences to help students master the required skills needed for certification

    Required Qualifications

    • An expert knowledge and in-depth understanding of OSHA 40 HAZWOPER standards, including specific requirements for hazardous waste sites, environmental hazards, and emergency response.
    • Instructional experience that demonstrates the ability to effectively teach the course content and address student questions, concerns, etc.

    Reporting to the Director of University Opportunity Programs, the Assistant Director will serve as the immediate supervisor of the day-to-day administration of the University Opportunity Programs (UOP) and assist the Director in the development of the strategic vision and goals.   • Position Summary:
    The Science Technical Specialist is responsible for maintaining the laboratory and support 
    facilities for the designated science departments. Broad duties include preparing laboratories for instruction; maintaining an appropriate inventory of lab supplies, reagents, media, instrumentation, and equipment; managing the chemical database; overseeing the use and disposal of bio/hazardous materials; helping ensure compliance with relevant health and safety lab protocols; and assisting in the hiring and supervision of student lab workers.       routine maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment such as microscopes,
      micropipettes, spectrophotometers, and similar instrumentation.

    • Bachelor's degree in a science field such as biology, earth science, or physical science, with expertise in related laboratory techniques. 
    • Master's degree in a relevant science field preferred, with prior supervisory experience.

    This is a full-time 10-month administrative position in a CSWE accredited undergraduate social work program. The program is seeking candidates with effective administrative and/or community organizing skills to coordinate the internship experience for the social work program as well as develop and manage special programs.

    Position Responsibilities: 

    • Plans for, recruits, screens, develops, and maintains quality field placement opportunities in Willimantic and around the State of Connecticut with input from faculty and students with final approval from the Program Coordinator.

This part-time position is ideal for a strong writer with journalism experience, excellent interviewing and editing skills, and a passion for telling compelling stories.

    Please note: This position requires working on-site at Eastern Connecticut State University's campus in Willimantic, Connecticut. Remote work is not available for this role.

    Responsibilities

    • Write and edit news stories, press releases, feature stories, and other written content supporting the University’s communications, marketing, and public relations initiatives.
    • Cover University events, programs, and developments and produce engaging news content in AP style.
    • Conduct interviews and background research to ensure accurate, thorough, and compelling storytelling.
    • Edit and proofread content produced by student writers.
    • Post news content to the University’s online newsroom (via the website’s content management system).
    • Draft email newsletters and other digital communications.
    • Prepare news content for distribution across the University’s social media platforms.
    • Participate in weekly writers’ meetings to plan and coordinate coverage.
    • Assist with additional communications and marketing projects as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in communications, journalism, English, or a related field preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience in news writing and editing, including knowledge of AP style and journalism ethics.
    • Strong interviewing, reporting, and research skills.
    • Experience working with digital publishing and communications platforms, including content management systems and email marketing tools. Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, Constant Contact, and Cascade CMS preferred.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
    • Detail-oriented, creative, reliable, and accountable.
