Eastern’s School of Education and Professional Studies Receives National Recognition
The 2014 National Council on Teacher Quality (NCTQ) review of teacher preparation programs, published by U.S. News & World Report, names Eastern’s School of Education and Professional Studies (SEPS) as one of the nation’s highest ranked for program quality. The review focuses on the nation’s elementary and secondary education programs, for which Eastern received high marks for both. The Harford Courant’s coverage of the review states that Eastern is only one of 10 institutions in the nation to be recognized in both areas.
Jacob Easley II, Dean of SEPS explains, “At Eastern, we continually seek to improve our programs to ensure effectiveness and positive outcomes for our students.” Along with the recent NCTQ rating, the education programs of Eastern are also noted as distinguished by their national accreditor the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.
