What is Eastern Doing to Protect the Campus?
The University has taken a number of measures to ensure the health and safety of our campus community. Leading that effort is a committee that includes Executive Vice President Michael Pernal (chair); Vice President Kenneth Bedini; Vice President Dennis Hannon; Police Chief Jeffrey Garewski; Director of Student Health Services, Dr. Robert Jennette; Director of University Relations Edward Osborn; Director of Facilities Management and Planning Nancy Tinker; Chief Information Technology Officer Joseph Tolisano; Eric Germain, environmental health and safety officer and Biology Professor Yaw Nsiah.

The health and safety of our students, faculty and staff is our primary concern, and everyone on campus should educate themselves on this disease and take appropriate precautions. You can do some simple things to protect yourself from potential contamination, including avoiding contact with ill persons; covering your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze; washing your hands with soap and water after coughing; and staying at home if you think you are ill with flu. If you have questions or are exhibiting flu-like symptoms, please contact Eastern’s Student Health Services at 465-5263 or visit the Health Services Website.
