|Political science and history major Quanece Williams, '16, has been awarded a prestigious U.S. Fulbright Student Program grant to serve as an English teaching assistant in the Czech Republic for the 2017-2018 academic year.
|Political science major Sierra Colon is one of 250 undergraduate students from across the United States selected to receive the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. Colon will use the scholarship in the summer of 2016 to intern with the Surplus People Project (SPP), a nonprofit organization in Cape Town, South Africa. Read more.|
|Environmental earth science major Brandan Sumeersarnauth received two competitive scholarships to study in Japan in the spring of 2016. He is one of only 25 undergraduate students nationwide to receive the $2,500 Bridging Scholarship for Study Abroad in Japan, as well as one of 800 American undergraduates to receive the $5,000 Benjamin A. |Mathematics major Ricky Magner received an Honorable Mention in the 2014 Goldwater competition, which focuses on students committed to pursuing a research career in a STEM field. Read more.|
|Psychology major Eric Cerino received a $30,000 Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) fellowship from the National Science Foundation in the spring of 2014. The fellowship stipend will cover Cerino's tuition and support direct research costs during the first 12 months of his Ph.D. program at Oregon State University's (OSU) LIFE* in an Aging Society program (*Linking Individuals, Families, and Environments).
