Jamaica 2011 -- Social Work

During spring break in March 2011, 12 Social Work majors, accompanied by Associate Professor of Social Work and Sociology Robert J. Wolf, travelled to Jamaica to participate in social work activities in the Montego Bay area of Jamaica.

During their one-week stay, they worked with children in Logwood Basic pre-school, had a tour of a Juvenile Court, participated in an anti- HIV/AIDS program at Rusea High School, and travelled to a nearby beach to display anti-HIV/AIDS literature. In addition, they visited a group home for physically and mentally challenged children and conducted a government needs-assessment survey of a local community.
