The ConneCT Management Advisory Committee (CMAC) Policy states:
"It is the policy of the State of Connecticut that information and
services on Connecticut State Government Web Sites are/be designed to
be accessible to people with disabilities. It is the responsibility of
the agency and its web page developers to become familiar with the guidelines
for achieving universal accessibility and to apply these principles in
designing and creating any official State of Connecticut Website."
This web page is designed to assist Eastern's Web Developers in designing
web pages which comply with the "Universal
Web Site Accessibility Policy for State Web Sites - Version 4.0"
and the W3C "Web Content
Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 W3C Recommendation", Conformance
Level A, as well as the accessibility requirements set forth in Eastern's
Web Policy. CMAC has a "Checklist
of Design Requirements" which sets forth the design requirements
for compliance.

Accessibility Web Seminar Hosted by CIT
On Thursday, August 28, 2003 a Web Seminar entitled: "Website
Accessibility: The Legal Landscape for Post-Secondary Institutions"
was hosted by the Center for Instructional Technology (CIT) in Library
Room 436. If you missed the seminar, watch this space for a

Web Policy Updated
Eastern's Web Policy and Review Committee, (WPRC), recently completed
a complete review and update of the official Web Policy. Every Eastern
Web Publisher is strongly encouraged to read the newly updated policy,
paying particular attention to the portions relating to Accessibility
requirements.
