The Arts and Lecture series closes on March 6 with a concert by Poncho Sanchez at 7 p.m. in the Shafer Auditorium.
The 2007–2008 Arts and Lecture Series closes with a bang — a concert by Poncho Sanchez, internationally-acclaimed conguero and leader in the bedrock style of jazz. Sanchez will perform in Shafer Auditorium on March 6 at 7 p.m. Sanchez’s numerous albums and international tours testify to his standing as one of the most important and influential jazz artists of the day. “Our main goal is always to keep Latin jazz alive, growing and moving, while being authentic to the music that we love,” says the Grammy Award-winning musician. “As I always say, this music is not just for Latin people. It is American music. It is for everybody!”
