GANDHI PEACE PANEL

On Oct. 2, Eastern hosts the panel discussion "Gandhi's Legacy of Ahimsa" in recognition of Mohandas K. ("Mahatma") Gandhi's lifelong advocacy of nonviolence. Panelists include Uma Mesthrie, Gandhi's great-granddaughter; Usha Thakkar, director of the Institute of Research on Gandhian Thought and Rural Development in Bombay; R. P. Jain, co- owner and publisher of Motilal Banarsidass Publishers in Delhi; Bal Ram Singh, director of Indic Studies and the Gandhi Lecture Series at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth; Emmett Bradbury, associate professor of philosophy at Chicago State University; and Eastern Philosophy Professor Hope Fitz. Roger Buckley, founding director of the University of Connecticut's Asian American Studies Institute, will moderate.   Back to Arts & Lecture
