The Arts and Lecture Series was established at Eastern Connecticut State University in 2001 as one way to support and promote Eastern’s liberal arts mission. The series consists of cultural events designed to enlighten the Eastern community and provide thought and discussion. The Arts and Lecture program strives to bring stimulating speakers and artists to Eastern for the purpose of presenting intellectual programs that inspire discourse and promote further study of issues on campus.
The David T. Chase Free Enterprise Institute was established in 1986 to serve Eastern Connecticut State University, the surrounding community and the entire state. The Institute is dedicated to supporting the advancement of the American free capitalistic enterprise system and the belief that a free entrepreneurial capitalist system is the foundation for business growth that best serves the interests of individuals and society.
The Eastern Visiting Writers Series, inaugurated in 2006, serves as a forum for writers of national standing to read from their work, share their views regarding the craft of writing and the state and outlook of literary publishing, and to interact with the Eastern community.
University Hour is a Wednesday afternoon program offering the Eastern community a unique opportunity to experience cultural and educational events that enhance and support the curriculum through interdepartmental and collaborative efforts.
