On Saturday September 20, 2008 at approximately
11:15 pm, a student reported being robbed by
a male on the sidewalk located on the west side
of Occum Hall. The suspect approached the victim
with three other males. The victim reports that
no weapons were shown by the suspect. The victim’s
wallet containing cash was taken. One other person
was present with the victim when the incident
occurred. The victim and witness described the
suspect as the following:
An African American Male 18 – 20 years
old approximately 5 ft 11 inches tall, around
180 lbs medium build with very short dark black
hair that was shaved very close. He was wearing
a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. The
black hooded sweatshirt the Suspect wore had
a light design on it, possibly light dots. The
victim described the other three males as African
American – no further description at this
time. All of the suspects fled on foot.
The Willimantic Police Department is investigating
a similar incident that occurred on the same
night in the Tingley Street area at approximately
11:30 pm.
