Bowling for Soup

More than 75 Eastern student-athletes and their coaches participated in the Bowling for Covenant Soup Kitchen event at Wili Bowl in late January, donating more than 400 non-perishable food items to the kitchen.

Kazahkstan Educator Visits Eastern

On Jan. 30, Eastern was visited by Amirlan Kusainov, president of Kazakh-American University in the Republic of Kazakhstan. His wife, Kyrmyza, and his son, Aigazy, accompanied Kusainov. In addition to visiting with CSU Chancellor David G. Carter; Eastern President Michael Pernal; and Dimitrios Pachis, vice president for academic affairs, the Kusainov family also toured the J. Eugene Library and the new Child and Family Development Resource Center. Robert Horrocks, chairman of the Department of Health and Physical Education and coordinator of Eastern’s Study Abroad Program, arranged the visit.
