Seniors Greg Pizzi and Jon Hardy won first place for their music video “Betswy Song,” which was filmed partially in Scotland. Freshman Nick Napoletano earned second place for his energetic spoof, “Exploration Nation.” Napoletano also tied for third for his info-ad send-up, “Pooperfume.” The other tie for third place winner was Lauren Beaudoin, a junior communication major for her music video, “Mad World.” Denise Matthews, co-coordinator and associate professor of video production at Eastern said it all: “This year’s entries reflected the intense interest that students have in video and filmmaking. Hats off to our Administrative Support Team! |
Eastern hosted a breakfast for more than 40 administrative assistants as part of Administrative Professionals Day on April 28. “We need to work together and each of us needs to do our best in order for Eastern to succeed,” said David Trainor, associate vice president for human resources, in describing the Eastern work ethic. “This group epitomizes this vision. I am pleased to see such a great crowd this morning. Thank you for all that you do for the University.”
President David Carter shared several anecdotes with those present to make the point that “the word about Eastern is out, thanks to you.” He described how several people had come up to him the previous Sunday during the Open House for incoming students to thank him for the warm and friendly atmosphere at Eastern. And only hours before on Wednesday evening, he had chanced upon an Eastern alumnus at Grand Central Station in New York City who wanted Dr. Carter to know how proud he was of his alma mater.
“Each time we have faced an obstacle at Eastern, you have helped turn it into an opportunity. We cannot succeed without your efforts. In many ways, you are our foundation. Thank you.”
