Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF)
The Clean Energy Fund was established to promote clean and renewable energy use in Connecticut . The site contains information on clean and renewable energy sources, current and previous investments made by the Fund and information about how to apply for funding.
Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (DEP)
The DEP is the agency charged with ensuring the conservation, improvement, and protection of Connecticut ’s environment while also encouraging the social and economic development of the state. This site is one part of the DEP that deals with energy in CT. The site provides information on efficiency, climate change, biomass, and biodiesel, and links to many state and federal sites.
Connecticut Energy Conservation Management Board (ECMB)
Advisory Group to the DPUC that assists and advises utility distribution companies in the development and implementation of comprehensive and cost-effective energy conservation and market transformation plans. Site includes information about the Board, Annual Report to the Legislature, and various other reports and presentations.
Connecticut General Assembly Energy and Technology Committee
The committee of the Connecticut General Assembly that has cognizance of all matters relating to the department of Public Utility Control and energy planning and activities. The site includes information on the committee and its members, meeting and agenda records, and public hearing transcripts.
Connecticut Office of Consumer Counsel (OCC)
The OCC is an independent state agency with statutory responsibility to represent customers of Connecticut’s five regulated utilities (electric, gas, water, telephone, and cable television), primarily in matters that go before the Department of Public Utility Control (DPUC). The OCC’s website contains information for consumers about each utility, how to participate in a DPUC hearing, and how to file a complaint.
Connecticut Office of Policy and Management Energy Management and Policy Development Unit (OPM)
The Energy Unit has a number of responsibilities regarding energy management in State owned and leased buildings and purchasing of energy resources for State facilities. This site includes state, national, and international energy data, information on grants provided by the Unit, and conservation tips for consumers.
Connecticut Siting Council
The Connecticut Siting Council’s mission is to objectively balance the statewide public need for adequate and reliable services at the lowest cost to consumers with the need to protect the environment and ecology of the state. The Siting Council has exclusive jurisdiction to regulate the siting of facilities under its jurisdiction, while municipal zoning and inland wetland commissions may regulate and restrict electric generation facilities, and electric substations. The site contains meeting proceedings, application guides, and public participation information.
Department of Public Utility Control (DPUC)
The (DPUC) is the agency of state government that regulates the public utilities of electric, gas, water, telecommunications and cable television. One of its roles in electric competition is to develop a consumer education program to help you understand the process and make an informed choice.
The Connecticut Energy Advisory Board (CEAB)
The CEAB is a statutorily created body with responsibility for recommending and advising the Legislature and the Governor on energy policy and related matters.

Maine State Planning Office - Energy
Maine’s energy planning and policy development activities are housed at the State Planning Office (SPO), with a particular emphasis on developing regional competitive electricity markets, advising the Governor on nuclear safety issues, and coordinating interagency activities. SPO represents the state of Maine at New England Power Pool, ISO New England, Council of Northeast Governors, and New England Governors’ Conference. SPO also chairs and staff the newly-created Energy Resources Council, a Cabinet-level council of eight agencies established by the Maine Legislature to advise the Governor and Legislature in the formulation of energy policy.

The Office of Energy and Community Services (ECS) provides information on fuel assistance, weatherization, energy programs and energy information for New Hampshire.
New York State Public Service Commission
The Commission regulates the state's electric, gas, steam, telecommunications, and water utilities. The Commission also oversees the cable industry. The Commission exercises jurisdiction over the siting of major gas and electric transmission facilities and has responsibility for ensuring the safety of natural gas and liquid petroleum pipelines.

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is a public benefit corporation created in 1975 by the New York State Legislature. NYSERDA seeks to make energy more affordable for residential and low-income households; help industries, schools, hospitals, municipalities, not-for-profits, and the residential sector, including low-income residents, implement energy efficiency measures; and provide objective, credible, and useful energy analysis and planning to guide decisions made by major energy stakeholders in the private and public sectors.
