William M. Leahy, CEM, CDSM, Associate Executive Director for Operations for the Institute for Sustainable Energy, is responsible for the overall organization and operational management of the Institute and serves as the Institute's chief operational officer. Bill holds a BS and MS in Industrial Technology from CCSU, and a MS in Management from RPI. Bill has twenty-five years experience in demand side management, distributed generation, electric distribution and energy commodity sales.

Laurel L. Kohl, Energy Technical Specialist for Education & Training is responsible for energy education-related projects at the Institute, including curriculum development and delivery, coordination of workshops, conferences, and education outreach. Laurel holds an AS in Nursing, a BGS in Environmental Earth Science from ECSU, and a MA in Teaching from Sacred Heart University.

Dr. Fred Loxsom, professor and endowed chair for Sustainable Energy Studies at Eastern Connecticut State University. His focus is on teaching and research related to renewable energy sources and sustainable energy policy. Dr. Loxsom is a member of the faculty in the Department of Environmental Earth Science at ECSU.

Bette Giordano, University Assistant is responsible for administering the Institute's business operating systems, including; daily administration and reporting on the Institute's program activities and budget, preparing grant applications and administering contracts for outside services. Bette holds a BS in Accounting and an MS in Communication from CCSU. Bette has eighteen years experience in the electric utility business conducting community outreach activities, managing budgets, and coordinating conservation programs.

Michael P. Schoeplein, Energy Technical Coordinator is responsible for projects related to energy efficiency solutions and technical applications. Michael has worked in the energy conservation field for fifteen years including; Energy Conservation Technician for utility demand side management programs, Energy Auditor in the DOE Weatherization Program and as Program Administrator for utility low-income programs. Michael holds a BA in Economics with a minor in Sociology from ECSU.

Karen Schroeder, University Assistant is responsible for high school energy curriculum development and is an instructor at ECSU. Karen holds a BA in Environmental Biology from the University of Colorado and a MS in Environmental Policy and Management from the University of Denver.
