History may be a more popular major than you thought, both at Eastern and some of the most prestigious colleges and universities in the Northeast.

Here are some interesting statistics compiled from Eastern Connecticut State University, Banner Reporting, Oct. 2004, and U.S. News and World Report, America's Best Colleges 1998.

Nearly one out of every twelve Eastern students have a major in History, making it the fourth most popular major on campus as of the fall 200 semester.
