The Financial Aid Office at Eastern Connecticut State University's purpose is to assist parents and students who might not otherwise be able to meet their educational expenses. The staff in the Financial Aid Office is available to assist students, both current and prospective, in determining their eligibility for available financial aid. Financial need is determined by a federal formula that takes various factors into account including:
- Student and/or Parent income
- Family size
- Assets (Parent/Student)
- Number of family members in college, not including parents
|
One of the key factors, in addition to need, that determines the amount of aid that a student can receive in an academic year is availability of funds. Eastern, like most schools, will not be able to meet full the demonstrated need of many aid applicants. Therefore, it is very important to meet our priority application deadline so as to receive the maximum possible aid. Late applications are encouraged, but less aid will be available.
Regrettably, there is no need-based financial aid available for international students at Eastern. All international students should be able to meet their financial obligations during their stay in the United States, as is required before an I-20 is issued. International students may, however, apply for some merit-based scholarships and/or for on-campus student employment.
