You have recently made the decision to join the Young Educators Society in your school. Welcome to the world of teaching. You may have already decided that you want to become a teacher, or you may have joined to learn more about the teaching profession. Perhaps you just like to work with children for fun and the reward of having helped children to grow and improve themselves.

This booklet has been put together to assist you in your quest for experiences and knowledge connected to the field of teaching.

Regardless of your plans for the future, we hope that you will have many valuable experiences with this club. Keeping a record here of these experiences is important. Later when you are filling out college or job applications, you will be able to refer back to this booklet for dates and lists of activities you participated in. Reflecting on journal entries may help you make some career choices later in life, or write an essay for a class or application.

This booklet is also a training guide for those of you planning on entering the teaching field. It will help you keep track of the skills you have acquired and courses you have completed while learning about the teaching profession. You need not make a commitment today however, just begin keeping track of your activities and have fun.
