Capitol Region Education Council & Eastern Connecticut State University invite you to participate in the following projects focusing on computer applications in education.
1)Statewide
networking among future teachers, YES Club and Future Teacher Club members.
During April – June 2002, we will be initiating an online virtual community of future teachers and their teachers who would like to share ideas on educational technology, professional education, and fun ideas for using the WWW for teaching.
Participating advisors of YES and Future Teacher Clubs may receive a resource budget
of $500 to support their organizational activities, purchasing software and hardware, and other resources.
2)Workshop
for Future Teachers Using Technology-
Saturday, June 1, 2002, 8:30 am – 3 pm, Eastern Connecticut State University (ECSU)
Join future teachers from middle schools and high school and their club advisors and parents in a day-long workshop exploring the uses of educational technology – video, audio, graphic arts, computer design, and webpage development – for enhancing learning and teaching.Invoiced transportation would be reimbursed.
3)Week-long
Experience for Future Teachers Using Technology –
Sunday
evening, June 23 – Friday afternoon, June 28, 2002, ECSU.
High school student who are planning to become
future teachers will participate in an undergraduate seminar, earning college
credit, on educational technology applications – including advanced workshops
in video production, webpage design, computer graphics, and writing for
media, and earn college credit.A
scholarship covering tuition, university residential hall accomodations,
and meal plan will be offered a selected group of students.
