Teaching to Change LA

This is an incredible website on technology, kids, citizenship and the digital divide. We must attend to this issue in CT.  We are moving ahead to launch both the CT Parent Tech Academy and TECHCORPS-CT to begin to address these issues in partnership with business, government and the schools. Revising the National Educational Technology Plan

Since the 1996 release of the nation’s first educational technology plan, interest in increasing the use of technology in education has catapulted to national prominence. This interest has been spurred by the widespreadrecognition of the transformations technology is having on the American
economy, as well as by the potential for technology to transform the teaching and learning experience. A growing sense now exists that there isa critical mass of opportunities to make tremendous strides in improving the nation’s schools. In recognition of these opportunities, the Office of Educational Technology has undertaken a strategic review and revision of the national educational technology plan to be completed by fall 2000.

Technology Meets Math Education: Envisioning A Practical Future

Any discussion of the future role of technology in mathematics education must integrate enthusiastic vision with careful realism, as the recent pasthas demonstrated that there is significant potential, but it is often notrealized. These goals are best served by the creation of communities of learners in which students are actively engaged in
the process of mathematical sense-making

Welcome to Teachnet.Com
With teachers dealing with such issues as mainstreaming, different ability levels, and growing discipline difficulties, a problem that cannot be ignored is how to keep challenging activites available for all student at all times.
