Classroom Strategies: Good Practice
Frequent student-faculty contact in and out of classes is the most important factor in student motivation, intellectual commitment

and personal development. The best instructors are those who genuinely try to understand the ideas their students are trying to
communicate, rather than constantly "grading" comments. Students describe good teachers as approachable, interested, easy to
talk to, inviting of student views, concerned about student progress, and open to helping students with problems.

CHADD - About CH.A.D.D.
Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD) was

founded in 1987 in response to the frustration and sense of isolation experienced by
parents and their children with AD/HD. At that time, one could turn very few places for
support or information. Many people seriously misunderstood AD/HD. Many clinicians
and educators knew little about the disability, and individuals with AD/HD were often
mistakenly labeled "a behavior problem,""unmotivated," or "not intelligent enough."

Classroom Today-Workshop

one computer classroom, which will assist those trying to implement Internet-based projects with
limited Internet connections. Alternative assessment strategies, designed to assist teachers in
evaluating student work will be presented. Finally, strategies for conducting in-service workshops

50 Tips on the Classroom Management of Attention Deficit Disorder
Teachers know what many professionals do not: that there is no one syndrome of ADD, but many; that ADD rarely occurs in
"pure" form by itself, but rather it usually shows up entangled with several other problems such as learning disabilities or mood
problems; that the face of ADD changes with the weather, inconstant and unpredictable; and that the treatment for ADD,
despite what may be serenely elucidated in various texts, remains a task of hard work and devotion.
