Roe v. Wade, 410 U.S. 113 (1973) was a landmark case that legalized abortion. It is still a very controversial issue today.

If you are interested in learning more about the rights given to you under the 1st Ammendment- you'll be interested in learning that Congress shall make no law respecting or prohibiting an establishment of religion.

Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, 40 years later "On April 22, 1993, a Woodstock forum addressed the progress of African-American education since Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, the 1954 landmark decision of the Supreme Court which called for racial integration of public schools."

Miranda v. Arizona "Miranda is one of the best-known cases in the history of the Supreme Court." This case established the rights given during an arrest and procedures that need to be followed by arresting officers.

In Texas v. Johnson (1989) Johnson burned a United States flag and was arrested he challenged his right of free speech.

Weeks rights were violated by an illegal search and seizure by the police. He took his case to the U.S. Supreme Court in Weeks v. United States (1914).

Thompson was a fifteen year old boy who murdered his brother. He was sentenced to death. Thompson v. Oklahoma (1988) states that a minor cannot be executed.

Nix v. Williams (1984) involves a defendent who incriminates himself after committing a murder a because police never read him his rights.

Marbury v. Madison (1803) is a landmark case because it created judicial review which allows the Supreme Court to declare the actions of Congress unconstitional.

Illlegal search and seizure was challenged in the case Mapp v. Ohio (1961).

The constitutionality of the death penalty was upheld in Gregg v. Georgia (1976).
