ATC History Introduction:  This site will tell you all about the Appalachian Trail.  When it was established, how it was constructed and the different organizations that helped complete and keep the trail clean and well kept.  in this site you can learn all about the history of one of the most walked trails.

Important Dates in Appalachian Trail History :  To learn about the important dates associated with the Appalachian Trail from October 1921- February 28, 1994.

The Appalachian Trail:  If you like to hike and wnat to know where the trail is and
all about different parts of the trail this is a good place to go.  This site will tell you all about different hiking trips you can take.  It also tells you how to get the ATC's guidebook.  This guide book is available for all the states and tells you length throughout the trail, camping places, and gives you maps on the trail.

 GORP - Finding and Hiking the Trail - The New Appalachian Trail This site explains how important getting raod maps and trail maps to find out exactly where you want to hike.  Many trails intersect with major highways and roadways.  It is always important to know where your hiking.
 

Appalachian National Scenic Trail Homepage :  To learn more about visitor information, activities you can do near or on the trail, permits, fees, camping and lodging areas, and first aid services go to this site.  You can get addresses to find out information about the trail and things around the trail.  Since the trail goes through many national parks there is usually different activities you can do.

GORP - Great Outdoor Recreation Pages - Appalachian Trail :  The Appalachian Trail is a 2,159 mile footpath.  This site will describe the 2 inch by 6 inch vertical white paint blaze that one uses to follow the trail.  The trail is used for many purposes.  Some use it to take short or long walks.  Others who are interested in the wildlife go on the trail to take spectacular pictures.
GORP - Adirondacks State Park, New York: Hiking, Paddling, Scenic Driving and more :  Here you can learn about the history of the trail and what has been done to conserve the trail.
About the Appalachian Trail Conference: Here you can find out about all the conferences and organizations that are associated with maintaining the trail, news, programs, and issues on the trail.
Conservation Rules for Hikers :  When hiking on the trail you have different conservation rules you should follow as a hiker.  This site has a complete list of the rules.
Adventure at Kent, CT :  This site tells of one adventure through Kent, CT.  Here you can see some great pictures and hear about different stories on the trail.
