Staff and Faculty            July 1997 Summer Institute for Future Teachers (SIFT I)
Program Purpose

This couse is designed for students who are considering education as a major and ultimately teaching as a profession. Students will have an opportunity to experience primary, middle and secondary education through various field placements. These experiences are intended to help students in selecting an apporpriate education major and teaching grade level of preference. Students will obtain a systematic body of knowledge from whifch they can develop a repertoire of teaching practices to meet the learning styles, developmental needs, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
