Undergraduate Student Assistantships -  from Dean Kleine's office

"As in the past, Eastern has created a limited number of paid undergraduate student assistantships for Fall 1999.  The undergraduate assistants will perform appropriate tasks, which will make it easier for a faculty member to interact with students.  An undergraduate assistant can be assigned to an individual faculty member or a group of faculty within an academic department.  An undergraduate is usually a student of junior or senior standing."

Please see David for guidelines for the application process.  These funds will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Student Funding for Research/Creative/Scholarly Activity

ECSU invites matriculated students to apply for funding in order to support research projects, publication efforts, presentations or papers at conferences, exhibitions, and performances.    Applicants, using a form available from the Department Chair, describe the nature of the proposed project and include a budget up to $200.  For more information, please see the Department Chair or the School Dean.

substitute teaching opportunities for students

Killingly schools are interested in recruiting mature, talented people to serve as part of a core
substitute teacher cadre.  Members of this substitute teacher cadre will have regular
work and the added benefit of being able to participate in programs through Killingly’s
newly established professional development center.

Please see Mitch Sakofs for details.

Opportunities to Contribute

The Bowlathon on Saturday, November 13, 1999, supporting scholarships at ECSU.  The Stoloff boys will be continuing their participation, without gutter bumpers this year, and seek contributions by the number of pins that they will knock down in two games - should not be a great number.  Please see David if you care to contribute.
