Y2K Computer Hardware Compliance in Faculty Offices

Please sign a permission form at Paulette Mares' desk indicating whether you would be willing to have a technical team conduct Y2K Computer Hardware Compliance on your faculty workstation(s)

a) without your presence

b) only with your presence or

c) with the department secretary's presence

Some more information on this process:

"Technicians from a Y2K consulting firm are presently on campus to perform
Y2K compliance testing on all state-owned. PCs.  They will be here for a
month or so.  You may have seen Dennis Hannon's email on this effort that
went out last week to all faculty and staff.  This is a state-funded
project that is being offered to all agencies; many have already been done.

The procedure takes 10 minutes or so.  It does not disturb or display
contents of files or email.  It does leave a licensed copy of the testing
program on the hard drive, which will have no effect on the operation of
the PC.  The primary objective is to identify non-compliant hardware
components."

Please let David know if you have any questions on this process.
