"It's About
Time: The NCATE Visiting Team Reports should be coming to Eastern Connecticut
State University by Friday (1/16/04) or Monday (1/19/04). As the report
and the exhibit room evidence report are lengthy, I am preparing a CD for
each of you, which will also include a copy of Eastern's Institutional Report.
We can talk more about this at the department's retreat."

LIB 204. We are planning for 100 people for a light dinner and discussions.

4) Excellence Expo on Wednesday, April 28,
2004 -

from Dr. Delar Singh on the planning committee for the Excellence Expo on
Wednesday, April 28, 2004:
Please include mention of the Excellence Expo on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 in your
Spring 2004 syllabi. Please also remember to consider inviting Fall 2003
teacher candidates and graduate degree candidates to present at the Excellence Expo.
5) Please welcome Mr. James J. Mello as
our newly appointed University Assistant for the Committee on Admissions
and Retention in Education. His desk will be in the Education Department
main office in Webb Hall 124. Mr. Mello is a retired Kelly Middle School
(Norwich) social studies and science teacher, a Sayles Elementary School
(Baltic) 7th and 8th grade teacher, and has served as a university supervisor
within our student teaching programs. He is a graduate of Eastern CSU with
MS degrees in Language Arts and Social Studies, and BS in Education. Jim
is also a veteran and is on reserve duty currently. Welcome, Jim.

the Capstone Seminar - during Spring 2004? Our scheduled section is filled and
there are 6 students interested in participating in another section. We
are planning to offer 2 sections of EDU 570 during Summer 2004.
