Dear Dr. Stoloff,
The Admissions staff has been "out on the road"
recruiting students for the fall 2001 semester. I am very
pleased to tell you that the counselors have seen a marked
increase in the number of students expressing
interest in pursuing a degree in Education at Eastern. The
excellent reputation of your program is far reaching. Many
students from out of state, including New York, Massachusetts,
and Rhode Island, have requested an application for admission and
have told us they intend to apply. Reservations
for our Open House on Sunday, October 22nd reinforce this point.
To date, 30% of the respondents listed Education as their
preferred major! Education is likely to see more than 200
students next Sunday!
We are so pleased with the response -- especially the
increased interest from out of state students. Thanks to you
and
the Education department faculty for all the cooperation and help
with recruiting talented students to Eastern.
Kim Crone"
