2) The 9th annual TLC Children's Literature Festival will be held in Webb 110
on Saturday, April 8.  The presentations will begin at 9:00, and
refreshments will be served from 8:15 to 9:00.  Lunch is included in the
conference fee which is $40.00 ($30.00 for full time students.)

Speakers this year are Joan Glazer, Kevin Hawkes, E.B. Lewis and Ann Turner.
Books by these presenters will be on sale and autographing will take place
at the end of the conference.  (3:00 pm.)

Can't attend but still want to purchase books for autographing?  (They make
wonderful Christmas/Hanukkah/etc. presents.)   The book display will be set
up around noon on Friday the 7th in Webb 113, and you can come make your
selections.  We'll put them in a bag and have them autographed for you.  You
can then pick the books up the following week.  Contact Shirley Ernst to
make arrangements.

The faculty members at our 3/2 meeting agreed to try to send David an email version of their resumes by April 3 for NEASC documentation.  Thank you very much.

4) Upcoming Events

a) Awards Reception for New Students, Student Center Tipton Room, Thursday, April 6, 6-8 pm.

b) What Beginning Educators Need to Know About Student Testing in Connecticut, April 12, 2000, ACES.  Sessions on the CT Mastery Tests and CAPT.
David has reserved a car that will leave at 7:30 am for the start of the meeting at 8:30 and return by 1:15 pm.  Please let David know if you are interested in attending.

c) Spring Reception for Admitted Students - Sunday, April 16, 2000.
Please join Amy and David in orientation sessions for admitted students for our class of 2004.  Please let David know if you are interested in attending.
