players and how the conflict started in the first place.

Procedure:  The day before the lesson, students will be asked to bring
in an article on the crisis in Kosovo.  The next day they will first
discuss their articles and then log on to the WWW and find as much
information as possible.  Students will be divided into groups and given
a certain topic concerning the conflict to research.

Closure:  Students will share all of the information that they gathered
and then be asked to prepare a single page essay on how they feel the
issue of Kosovo should be handled and why.  They should include
information that they gathered and personal opinion.

Grade level: 10\ World Civilizations

Objective:  Students will have a full understanding of the medieval time
period and the magnificent structures that people lived in.  They will
be able to explain the details of a castle and the purpose of each
structure.

Procedure:  Students will be divided into groups of four and will be
asked to use the WWW to find as many pictures of castles as possible.
They will then use these pictures to develop their own layout for a
castle.  This will be turned into the teacher and upon approval the
students will have two weeks to build their proposed castle with what
ever tools and materials that they find necessary.

Conclusion:  On the date that the castles are due, each group will be
asked to present their castle and explain all of its features and what
they made it out of.  The castles will remain on display for a week and
then returned to their owners.  Students shall now be able to explain
all of the features of castles, including protective structures, wells,
kitchens, etc.
