Lesson  to  HELP STUDENTS FAMILIARIZE THEMSELVES WITH THE INTERNET AND
MICROSOFT WORD AS WELL AS GREAT BOOKS AND THEIR AUTHORS.

GRADE LEVEL:  4 - 6
OBJECTIVE:  Students will utilize the internet and Microsoft word to create
a short analysis of a particular book they are reading for future readers.

TIME ALLOTMENT:  6 Classes

PROCEDURE:  1.  Using the internet, the students will include biographical
                                  information on the book's author as wellas a critics' analysis.

                             2.  After compiling some critical andbiographical information, the
                                  students will write a short personal view of their book using Microsoft
                                  word.

                             3.  All of their research and information will be formulated with
                                  Microsoft word and attached to the "Reading Bulletin Board" so
                                  that other readers can see their review and hopefully be
                                  encouraged to read the book.

                            4.  Students will share their experience, on the internet, with each other.
 

PLAN FOR HAVING STUDENTS DO A RESEARCH PROJECT ON SHAKESPEARE BY CARRIE LISITANO

GRADE LEVEL: 9-12
OBJECTIVE: TO HAVE STUDENTS RESEARCH SHAKESPEARE IN ORDER TO MAKE A
CREATIVE PAMPHLET ON HIS LIFE USING MICROSOFT WORD, THE INTERNET, AND
POWERPOINT WITH ONLY ONE BIOGRAPHICAL MISTAKE OR LESS.

PROCEDURE: 1) HAVE STUDENTS RESEARCH LIBRARY FACILITIES AS WELL AS THE
INTERNET FOR INFORMATION ABOUT SHAKESPEARE
                        2) HAVE STUDENTS GATHER THEIR INFORMATION AND
CREATE A BROCHURE WITH INFORMATION ABOUT SHAKESPEARE AS WELL AS
PHOTOGRAPHS.  THESE BROCHURES CAN INCLUDE INFORMATION ON SHAKESPHERE'S
LIFE OR WORKS.  THE STUDENTS SHOULD CREATE THE BROCHURES USING MICROSOFT
WORD AND POWERPOINT IN ORDER TO INCLUDE PICTURES.
                3) HAVE STUDENTS SHARE THEIR PROJECTS WITH THE CLASS

ASSESSMENT: BASED ON CREATIVITY AND ACCURACY OF THE BROCHURE.
