Lady Di

You are at the Homepage of Lady Di. No not, the former Princess of Wales, someone who was nicknamed Lady Di before Charles and Diana wed. The nickname was given to me by one of my former bosses and it stuck. Anyway, I am a graduate student at ECSU and taking my first graduate course, Microcomputers in the Classroom/Curriculum. I am having a ball. One of our assignments is to develop a Homepage for the web, so that is what this is all about.

Now if you did the math, you would know that Charles and Diana wed in1981, so I am an older student. In fact, I just took an early retirement after 32 years in the insurance industry and am looking forward to fulfilling a dream of mine to become a teacher. I am hoping to teach inner city, elementary school. Some of the subjects I hope to teach and some great websites for them are:

I am also hoping to become a published author. I have written my first book and sent my first letter of inquiry to a publisher. My inspiration for my book came from years of tutoring inner-city kids. The story is targeted to 10-13 year olds and I hope it takes off, because I would like to inspire inner-city kids to read more. If you are a budding author of children’s books, check out these sites for publishers.

Now to liven up this page, some facts about my best friends.

I have two dogs, Jessie, a Cairn Terrier and Cortez, a Chihuahua. Cortez will be 11 years old in March and Jessie will be 3 in May. Cortez was a perfectly content, sole dog of the house until I decided he needed a companion. I did some research on dogs and decided I wanted a female, intelligent, sweet-natured dog of about 10-15 pounds.

Anyway, Jessie is intelligent, however, very stubborn and bossy. She rules Cortez and attempts to rule Lucky, my 17-year-old cat. Anyone, who has a cat, knows the cat rules. It doesn’t matter how big the dog is and apparently how old the cat is, the cat is the ultimate boss. Lucky is a domestic shorthaired cat, no fancy pedigree. She was named Lucky because she has two front double paws and she is a calico. Both of these traits are considered "lucky" in cats. If you are interested in cats, check out the following websites:
