Short biography
Professor of Business Administration.  Joined the Eastern faculty in January 1981 as an Associate Professor.  From 1998 to 2002, developed a new major in Business Information Systems and won approval for it in 2003.  As Department Chair in 1993, led the development of a radical transformation in the Business major.  Also provided leadership in the development of a minor in Canadian Studies and a minor in Management Information Systems.  Over the years at Eastern, introduced a variety of innovative courses and methods.  Previously served at the policy level of a large multinational corporation (as Director of Planning for Timex).  Also served at the policy level in a medium-sized corporation, as Vice president and General Manager of the Iowa Paint Manufacturing Company.  Was earlier employed on the Finance staff in the world headquarters of Ford Motor Company. Memberships include the Association for Manufacturing Excellence.

Teaching interests:
Business Planning and Operations Management

Research areas:  
Production systems and work flow, including just-in-time processes;
Business policies and metrics governing corporate performance;
Total business systems.
