Short biography
Martin has a B.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont, was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Poland ’92-‘94, has a M.P.A from Indiana University in Comparative International Affairs and a Ph.D. in Public Administration with a concentration in Organization Theory from the State University of New York. His award-winning dissertation explored the coordination of assistance efforts in Bosnia after the war. He is an active member of ARNOVA and the Academy of Management. He has traveled extensively throughout Central, Southern and Eastern Europe as a volunteer, researcher and consultant. He has worked for government agencies, private firms and NGOs. He is now an Assistant Professor of Management.

Teaching interests:
His courses draw on diverse readings and sources to provide students with an understanding of the basic principles of management and how they can be applied to everyday situations in businesses, government agencies and non-governmental or not-for-profit organizations, both domestic and international.

Research areas:  
His current research explores organization and management issues in international development assistance efforts and complex humanitarian emergencies in transitional and post-conflict countries. His work also targets non-linear process modeling, change management, computer mediated communication and international regulation.
