            Important notes
0. For the courses in the BIS Mgmt minor, Social Informatics minor and the Certificate in BIS- see the catalog or the website for BIS. For the MIS minor - see the catalog CS section.
1. Students who have taken BUS467 in Spring 06 will get credits for BIS440 if they graduate in Spring'06, if later- a credit for BIS365.  
BIS365 and BIS364 will count as elective subjects in the BIS major. Students cannot take BUS450 and BIS461 without the prerequisite BIS370. 
2. Students who have evidence of having covered any of the subjects elsewhere should provide a copy of the relevant catalog description and transcripts.
3. If some students plan to graduate before a certain course is offered,  they may request the coordinator's permission to take a
similar course at another institution (including on-line) by providing a catalog description of the course they need to take.

5. Details on the BUS and BIS courses that are part of the MIS minor can be found also on the web page of the Business  Department.
6. Business or BIS  majors cannot take CSC200 since they must take BUS205. 
7. The BUS205 prerequisite is satisfying the LAC requirement for Information Technology competence requirement.
8. If a student cannot register for a course because it is full or needs a prerequisite, they can contact the instructor for permission to enroll.
9. The on-line offerings in BUS 205 and BIS370 provide flexibility in the design of your course sequence.
10. After 2006 CSC100 will not be a prerequisite for BUS205 as then will be addressed by the LAC Technology Competency requirement (Tech-SETT)
11. Further information on the scheduling of courses in the BIS Mgt concentration or BIS Minor within the BGS program can be obtained from the School of Continuing Education.
12. Further information on the BIS major, the BIS Mgt minor, the Social Informatics minor, the certificate in BIS can be obtained from the BIS coordinator.
13. Students majoring in BIS cannot have a BIS minor, MIS minor, Social Informatics minor or a certificate in BIS.
14. Students who take a BIS minor cannot take a Social Informatics minor and vice versa.
15. First year students need to take the LAC First Year Foundational courses and must complete them within the first 30 credits at Eastern. 
16. Second year students (sophomores)  need to take preferably in the first semester BUS205, while in the second semester: BIS/BUS 361 (a prerequisite for most other courses).
17. Juniors need to take first BIS361 if they have not done that already,  BIS370 Systems Analysis (preferably in the first semester, possibly concurrently with BIS 361) and BIS365.
18. Only Seniors can take the BIS461 course (the capstone course). BIS450 requires as a prerequisite BIS370. For any other prerequisites you may see the instructor if needed.
