Biography
I was raised in Pennsylvania and Florida. I received a
B.S. in Zoology from the University of Florida and then went
north to the University of New Hampshire for my M.S. and
Ph.D. in Zoology. I have been at ECSU for over twenty years.
Invertebrate zoology is my special interest, and I teach
courses in it, parasitology, and a mini-course called Boreal
Invertebrate Ecology, the latter including a long week-end
in New Hampshire and Maine. In addition, Organismal Biology
and Tropical Biology (Bermuda) are in my teaching domain.
Papers addressing the taxonomic problems regarding Bermuda's
amphipod fauna have been either published or presented at
scientific meetings. In addition to this research, I am
interested in museum collections of invertebrates and serve
as a Curatorial Affiliate at the Peabody Museum.

Reasearch Interests
My research concentrates on invertebrates known as
amphipod crustaceans. These animals, some collected by me
and students over the years in Bermuda, and others,
historical specimens housed in the collections at the
Peabody Museum, Yale University, have provided the basis for
studies by me, independent study students, and former
students.
