Evans, Tignonsini Each Recognized Six Times For Women’s Team
Senior Laura Tignonsini (VERNON) and first-year junior Saryn Evans (WILLIMANTIC) were each awarded all-alliance and all-conference honors six times, while junior Jessica Przygocki (BRISTOL) and first-year junior Lauren Coonan (MALVERN, NY) were four-time recipients.
Tignonsini, Evans, Przygocki and Coonan all contributed to the 4x200 (1:57.90) and 4x400 (4:41.86) relays which were awarded both all-alliance and all-conference honors, with Tignonsini also gaining both honors in the pole vault (7-1) and Evans (1:03.51) achieving both in the 400 meter dash.
In addition to Tignonsini and Evans, juniors Jessie Marshall (YANTIC) and Amy Zawistowski (MANCHESTER) and freshman Terry Frechette (LEDYARD) were recognized on an individual basis with all-alliance awards. Marshall (2:33.43) was seventh at 800 meters, Zawistowski (3:25.18) seventh at 1,000 meters and Frechette eighth (6:06.51) in the mile. That threesome also teamed with junior Ashley Behrent (COLCHESTER) on the 4x800 relay (11:18.78) which earned all-conference and all-alliance laurels.
The Eastern women compete at the New England Division III meet Saturday.at Tufts U.
