Leads all institutions in selections and major award-winners

In the sports of baseball and women’s lacrosse, Eastern individuals were named to either the first or second all-conference team a combined total of 16 times: nine in baseball and seven in women’s lacrosse, with both programs leading all conference schools in those categories. Both programs also boosted three major award-winners: baseball had the Player, Pitcher and Rookie-of-the-Year and women’s lacrosse the Defensive Player, Rookie and Coach-of-the-Year.

In men’s lacrosse, no other institution had more than Eastern’s seven all-conference selections (Keene matched Eastern’s total).

Following Eastern’s totals of 24 all-conference picks and 14 first-teamers was Keene State (21/13), Rhode Island College (12/7), Plymouth State University (11/4) and Western Connecticut State University (11/3). Five Keene individuals (three in men’s lacrosse) and three Rhode Island individuals received major awards while three Rhode Island individuals gained major awards. Massachusetts Boston and Plymouth State each had one major award-winner.

Moreover, Eastern was the only conference institution to either win a regular-season title or reach the championship round of the conference playoffs/tournament in baseball, softball, men’s lacrosse and women’s lacrosse. Eastern baseball won its fourth straight regular-season championship, women’s lacrosse won its first  playoff title and both men’s lacrosse and softball advanced to the championship round of their respective playoffs.

Winning Eastern’s third spring championship was the men’s outdoor track and field team, which claimed its fourth straight title at the Eighth Annual Little East Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship May 1 at North Dartmouth, MA.
