Academic articles are scattered through the journals of several disciplines, most notably architecture, business, geography, history, and planning. Most of these journals can be found in large university libraries. A wide variety of technical and trade publications are designed primarily to serve the needs of the shopping center industry. Many of these may be more difficult to find in any public or university libraries. |

of Shopping Center Research is
the only academic periodical
devoted solely to the study of shopping centers and malls. It began as
a trade journal published by the International Council on Shopping
Centers (1994-2004), but since moving to the Runstad Center for Real
Estate Studies at the University of Washington
in 2004, the editors have endeavored to transform it into a bona fide academic
