Sources of Current Information on Shopping Centers

Urban Land Institute  (ULI)

The ULI (founded in 1936) is a nonprofit research and educational organization based in Washington, D.C. It is primarily concerned with land use and development generally, including shopping centers and malls. It publishes the journal Urban Land and a wide variety of books on land use issues.

National Research Bureau  (NRB)

The NRB, based in Chicago with an office in Stamford, Connecticut, has been a leading provider of real estate information, including comprehensive data on shopping centers, since 1951.


Institute of Shopping Centre Management (Hong Kong) maintains a list of international shopping center trade organizations. Click "Useful Links."
International Council on Shopping Centers  (ICSC)

The ICSC (founded in 1957) is a shopping industry trade organization based in New York City. It promotes shopping centers, collects and distributes information,  sponsors conferences, issues news releases, and  publishes a wide variety of books and other materials.
 
Directory of Major Malls

The Directory of Major Malls Inc., headquartered in Nyack, New York, publishes an annual directory of  the 40,000 largest US and Canadian shopping centers titled Directory of Major Malls. It is the successor to Jomurpa Publishing Corp., which originated the directory in 1979.
