Overview

Stratigraphic log, moisture content, organic content, and inorganic content for an eighty-eight cm long core recovered from the submerged stream channel at the north end of Andover Lake. Unit I consists of a package of three fining-upwards beds of medium to coarse sand indicative of fluvial deposition. Unit II includes mixed sand, finer-grained mud and large organic fragments that is interpreted to reflect the incorporation of organic detritus atter following damming and submergence of the stream in 1927. Unit III consists of fine-grained organic rich lacustrine gyttja. Photographs for sections of the core identified by solid virtical bars and labelled as Figure 13a-c are viewed form this link.
