This program is headquartered in London, England and hosted by London Metropolitan University and includes field trips in London and other artistic sites in England.  Enrollment is limited to 20 participants, including university students and non-degree seeking students.

Explore the theatre arts using London and its environs as the classroom through extensive out-of-classroom field trips and experiential opportunities. The program curriculum includes attendance at shows with backstage tours; museum tours; working with professional British theatre artists; and tours of historical/artistic sites  (i.e. Shakespeare’s Globe, The Royal National Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon, the West End, and other venues in and beyond London).

Courses:
THE 476: Theatre on Tour, 3 credits, taught by Professor Ellen Brodie (with British guest artists)

To note: Students interested in participating should take Theatre 374: Great Scripts, 3 credits, taught by Professor Brodie at Eastern Spring 2010 to prepare students for the London program.

The approximate cost of the program is $4500 (which includes the 3 credit tuition and registration fees) for the entire month-long program. The cost includes round-trip airfare, lodging, tickets to required theatre shows and required museum entrance fees, month-long underground (subway) passes, and required weekday and weekend field trip transportation to sites outside of London. Additional travel time beyond the academic program is allotted. Financial aid is available.  The application deadline and $200 deposit is due December 1, 2009; the balance is due April 1, 2010.  Deposits are non-refundable. Additional details are on the application form.
