FAFSA Deadline Date

              Fall 2012 Deadline: March 15, 2012          Spring 2013 Deadline: November 15, 2012

Failure to file the FAFSA by Eastern's deadline date could result in reduced financial aid. It is important to understand that financial aid is not an unlimited resource. There is a limited amount of monies to go around, and schools must establish criteria by which the funds are distributed. The most common criteria are "deadline dates". Simply put, the funds will go to the students who do what they need to do-when they need to do it.

There is no filing fee attached to the FAFSA. The sooner you file the sooner you are likely to hear from us regarding eligibility. We recommend that you file the FAFSA on the web by going HERE or you can file via "hard copy" obtained from the financial aid office.

One of the most common reasons we receive from families as to why they were late is that they were waiting to file their federal tax return and use actual figures. DO NOT hold up the filling of the FAFSA for any reason. You are given the option to "estimate" your figures, and update at a later date. Remember to list Eastern Connecticut State University as a recipient school to receive your information. Our school code to put on the FAFSA is 001425.

Once you have filed your FAFSA, you will receive notification from the processor and our office will also receive your information. We will follow up the requests for additional paperwork from you. Please comply with all requests in a timely fashion. Remember-the sooner you supply the information, the sooner you will receive financial aid notification.

The financial aid office is happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the financial aid process. Please contact them with the information provided below with any questions or concerns you may have and they will promptly reply to you.

Fall & Spring Semester Hours:

Music and Theatre Calendar of Events

THE HARRY HOPE GOES GLOBAL

The Performing Arts Department Theatre program is pleased to announce its Fall 2011-Spring 2012 season of shows which will include plays from throughout the world. Audiences will be exposed to diverse cultures and diverse performance styles in the Harry Hope Theatre and in the Student Center

Thieves’ Carnival by French playwright Jean Anouilh (translation by Lucienne Hill) will be directed by J.J. Cobb, Assistant Professor of Theatre/Acting.  As described by the director, “Love-struck heiresses, pickpockets, and world-weary provocateurs take turns playing the fool in this updated classic.” The play is filled with fanciful characters in fantastical comic circumstances of disguise and deception. Categorized by the playwright, Thieves’ Carnival is a pièce rose - a rosy play - in the mischievous manner of Moliere whom he admired and emulated. Influenced also by the comic antics of Commedia dell’Arte, Anouilh’s play abounds in opportunities for physical clowning. Although one of the playwright’s lighter plays, Thieves’ Carnival explores and exposes the human drives for love and adventure as relief for loneliness and boredom. Thieves’ Carnival will be presented March 8 -11 and 13-14, 2012 (Thursday- Saturday at 7:30pm; Sunday at 4:00pm; Tuesday - Wednesday at 7:30pm) in the Harry Hope Theatre.

Scenes, Songs, and Monologues 2012student directed and performed new and known works, will be performed April 26 – 29, 2012 (Thursday- Saturday at 7:30pm; Sunday at 4:00pm) in the Harry Hope Theatre. To note, Scenes, Songs, and Monologueswill be presented in NYC as part of the CSU Off-Broadway Showcase of Student Talent as well (more details regarding Spring 2012 will be forthcoming).

In addition to plays presented in the Harry Hope Theatre, performances will also be presented in the Student Center Theatre as part of the Theatre program’s Northern Exposure initiative to bring theatre to venues on North Campus. The Student Center Theatre will host the Spring 2012 February Film Series (details to follow).

Admission for the Harry Hope Theatre shows is $5 for students and groups of 10 or more; $10 for Eastern faculty, staff, alumni and senior citizens; and $12 for the general public. For reservations, please call the box office at 860-465-5123.
