Hello to all.
Attached is a flyer for a PSY 460 Comparative Health Psychology course.
The courses scheduled to run in Summer Session A from May 23-June 15th. There will be an in class component of the course for the first week followed by a 9 day trip to Nepal. While in Nepal we will be visiting a hospital, free health clinic, Ayurvedic Clinic, a high school and the first psychiatric hospital in Kathmandu. We will also be visiting a shelter for women who have been sold into sex trade, most of whom are HIV positive and have been disowned by their families/communities in India. Of course, we will also be doing some cultural sightseeing in Nepal, Pokhara and Dhulikhel (view of the Himalaya). The course is structured to give students a unique opportunity to learn and experience health from a psychological, sociological, educational and compare to Western Medicine.
This course and is limited to 15 students. Scholarships for up to $1,000.00 are available (applications are available on the Continuing Education Website and due 2/1/2011). If you have any questions, please, contact Dr. Escoto.
