In this new and exciting Interior Design interactive online program, you will learn how to create spaces for living, working, and enjoyment. The program focuses on Design Theory, Design Process methods and Design Studio Work. The learning sequence study included are the design elements and principles, color theory, programming, space planning and the design of residential, commercial, and retail spaces.
The online learning method is “learner centered" so students can set the pace, sequencing and style of learning according to what works best for them. The environment is stimulating and interactive. Communication and design software is used extensively in design practice today. The online delivery of the Interior Design program mimics a real-world professional design experience. The modules incorporate communication and delivery of concepts via the same electronic mediums used by professionals. This program will prepare design students for entry level employment in the booming design industry.
Upon registering, you are given an initial six months to complete the program. Should you need more time, you may request a 6-month extension at no additional charge.
Upon successful completion of the Interior Design program, students will be able to:
• Apply diverse ideas, approaches, imaginative concepts, and rationalization to interior design projects.

• Understand color symbolism, perception and psychology: the effects of light on color and space relative to creating color harmony, and its link to the interior environment.

Students should have basic computer skills and be comfortable navigating the Internet. An Internet connection and emailing capabilities are also required. While not required, it is strongly recommended that students have basic architectural drafting and/or AutoCAD basics, a basic drawing class that includes perspective drawing, and a basic design class is encouraged. Students should also know how to use Microsoft Word, Adobe Photoshop, and PowerPoint.
This program is designed for individuals who are interested in starting a new career as an interior designer.
This course should be taken from a PC. Students should have an Internet connection, an email account, Windows Media Player (available as a free download), Microsoft PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Reader (also available as a free download). Students will also need access to a scanner and a printer. It is recommended that the student use the latest version of Internet Explorer in place of other web browsers.

Christina M. Scalise, principal of her own firm, is a professional interior designer whose interior and product design work has been published often in trade magazines and international publications. In practice since 1975, her hospitality and retail design work has won numerous awards and honors. While employed with Cole Martinez Curtis & Associates, she served as vice president, design director of the retail division and as a member of the Executive Management Group. She was also the design director of the interior Design division of MCG Architects, before starting her own practice in Newport Beach, California, Florida, and Pennsylvania. As a part-time interior design educator, Scalise taught design studio, professional practice, and rendering courses at Woodbury University, Seton Hill University, Brooks College, and the Art Institutes beginning in 1982. She has also served on the board of the Institute of Store Planners and as the director of its National Student Competition. Scalise is a graduate of Syracuse University where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She is certified by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification and is affiliated with several professional organizations.
1. How do I register?
Click on the register button at the top of the page and follow the directions. It is important that you type all your information in the boxes, then print it out to sign. Payment and sending instructions are in the bottom right corner of the form.
2. How much do the courses cost?

3. Can I register for courses if I live outside the United States?
Yes you can!
4. Do I ever have go to the school I register with?
All of our courses are delivered entirely online, so you never have to go to a class or travel to the school.
5. How long does it take to complete a course?
All of our courses are self-paced and open enrollment. You can start and finish the course at your own pace. When you register for a course, you are given 180 days (6 months) to complete the course. If you need more time, extensions are available.
6. Do I have to buy additional materials?
All materials are included. The cost of materials is covered by your tuition. GES ships all materials via UPS ground service upon registration.
7. Can I get financial aid?
GES courses are non-credit courses, so they do not qualify for federal aid. In some states, vocational rehab or workforce development boards will pay for qualified students to take our courses.
8. What happens when I complete the course?
Upon successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a certificate of completion from the school with which you registered. You must obtain a final passing grade of 70% or greater to be awarded a certificate.
9. Am I guaranteed a job?
GES courses will provide you with the skills you need to obtain an entry-level position in most cases. We do not provide direct job placement services, but our instructors will help you build your resume and are available to give advice on finding your first job. Instructors will also be available to use as a professional reference upon completion of the course. Potential students should always do research on the job market in their area before registering.
10. Who will be my instructor?

11. What do I have to have in order to take an online course, and what are the system requirements?
In order to take our online courses, you must have access to a computer and the Internet (a normal dial-up connection is fine). You can access the course contents from any Web-enabled computer. There are no necessary plug-ins. You do not have to use the same computer to log-in to the course every time. We recommend that you have a word-processing program (Microsoft Word is best) and the latest version of Internet Explorer.
