Health Requirements
All part time students applying for admission must fulfill the university's health requirements. Part Time students must submit evidence of measles (rubeola), German measles (rubella), and the tuberculosis risk assessment. All part time students need to complete the Tuberculosis Risk Assessment and provide documentation of TB risk. Part time students will need to fill out and return this form to the health services. Students who fail to comply with this mandate will not
be allowed to register for courses.

General Information
Auditing
Students who wish to audit courses are required to register
and pay the same charges as those students carrying courses
for credit.
Course Cancellation
A course may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.
The decision to cancel is usually made one week prior to
the beginning of a course. The Dean of the School of
Continuing Education reserves the right to cancel a course
or to make necessary schedule changes.
Credit Course Limit
Students can take a maximum of 12 credits overall for the
entire summer without special permission from the Dean of
the School of Continuing Education. Credit limits for
Summer Sessions are: (a) through the end of Summer
Session A, students may take up to seven (7) credits; (b) during Summer Sessions B & C, students may take up
to seven (7) credits. Note: a student enrolled in Session C
(three weeks) may not also enroll in an overlapping weeklong,
intensive course. The Dean of the School of
Continuing Education may approve a registration for up to
three additional credits for a total of 15 credits provided
that the student is in good academic standing.
ALL students who wish to exceed the credit limits must get
written approval from their faculty advisor before requesting
permission from the Dean of the School of Continuing
Education. Approval of the Dean is required before registrations
will be processed by the Registrar’s Office.
Credit/No Credit Option
Students have the option to take up to four courses on a
credit/no credit basis (in addition to University-designated
credit/no credit courses). The credit/no credit option may
not be applied to any course taken for the major, minor,
concentration, the General Education Requirements,
entrance requirements (such as foreign language), or for any
other University requirements. Only one student selected
credit/no credit course may be taken in any one semester.
Students must file the appropriate form with the Registrar’s
Office no later than June 19 for Summer Session A, July 31
for Summer Session B, and August 7 for Summer Session
C. The credit/no credit deadline for special and weeklong
sessions is prior to the fourth class meeting.
Final Grades
Your final grades are available via Eastern's E-Web. Grade reports are not mailed to
students. If you require a final grade report, you will need
to submit a written request to the Registrar’s Office.
Access E-WEB, http://eweb.easternct.edu.
Click “Login”; Enter your User ID (Student ID); Enter
your PIN; Select mid-term or final grades from the menu. Note, if this is your
first log-on, your pin was initialized
as your DOB, in a MMDDYY format (ex. 030681)
or the last six digits of your Eastern ID. The system will
immediately expire your PIN and request you change your
PIN. Your new PIN must be a 6-digit number.
Final Grades for Summer Session A will be available July 14;
final grades for Summer Sessions B and C will be available
August 22.
How to Drop or Withdraw from a Course:
Note: These deadlines will be strictly enforced
- To drop a course prior to the start of classes and before
the second class meeting:
- Complete an Initial Add & Drop Form. (Available
from the Registrar’s Office or the School of
Continuing Education.)
- Bring the completed form to either the Registrar’s
Office or the School of Continuing Education.
- No grade will be recorded.
- To withdraw after the second class meeting:
- Obtain a Withdrawal from Course Form. (Available
from the Registrar’s Office or the School of
Continuing Education.)
- Instructor must complete their section and assign a WP
(withdrawal passing) or WF (withdrawal failing) grade.
- Submit completed form to either the Registrar’s Office
or the School of Continuing Education.
- A grade of “WP or WF” will be recorded on your
academic transcript.
- Course withdrawal deadlines for Summer 2008 are:
Session A June 19
Session B July 31
Session C August 7
The withdrawal deadline for weeklong and special sessions
less than three weeks is prior to the fifth class meeting.
Prerequisite Course Policy
The prerequisite requirement for a course identifies prior
courses or experience expected to provide the background
necessary to successfully complete that course. It is the student’s
responsibility to satisfy prerequisites prior to registering
for a course. If the student has not taken the prerequisite
course either at ECSU or an equivalent course at another college
or university, written permission from the department
chair or the course instructor is required to register for the
course. You may not be able to register over the web if you
do not have a prerequisite. Call the School of Continuing

Payment. Fees must be paid in full at time of registration. Make checks payable to Eastern Connecticut State University. A fee of $25 will be charged for any checks that are not honored by banks.
Credit Cards. Eastern Connecticut State University accepts Discover, VISA, and MasterCard. Credit cards may be used for all forms of registration. Written permission of the cardholder is required for a second party to use a credit card for registration.
Outstanding Charges. Students who owe money from a previous semester must pay the outstanding amount before registering.
Refund Policy and Fees
To receive a refund, you must follow the procedure for course withdrawal. Summer courses are refunded as follows:

EasternOnline Tuition Refund Policy for Summer:
- 100% refund through the first week of the class ending on the first Saturday after the course starts. No refurnd after the first week.
Please note: No other refund options are available. Reimbursements may take up to one month to be processed. The $50 per course online registration fee is non-refundable.
Refund Policy for In-Person Campus courses
Full-term courses are refunded as follows:
- 100% refund through the first week (or 3 hours) of classes.
- 50% refund through the second and third weeks (or 9 hours) of class.
- No refund after the third week (or 9 hours) of class.
Less than full term courses are refunded as follows:
- 100% refund prior to the second class meeting.
- 50% refund prior to the third class meeting.
- No refund after the beginning of the third class meeting.
Special and weeklong sessions:
- 100% refund prior to the second class meeting.
- No refund after the beginning of the second class meeting.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
SWK 344 : Social Work with Substance Abuse Issues
Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic, Connecticut is approved to issue 4.5 CEUs by the Connecticut Certification Board, Inc. for this college course.
SWK 344 is an examination of the causes, medical aspects, family dynamics, cross-cultural issues and treatment modalities of alcohol and drug abuse. The course is designed for both undergraduate students and human service professionals in mind. This course is designed to provide students with the fundamentals for understanding the use and abuse of alcohol and other drugs, and a comparative overview of prevailing treatment models. This information will encompass policies for the treatment and control of alcohol and other drugs, an examination of the epidemiology and basic pharmacology of substance use. The course emphasizes a heterogeneous view of substance abuse and treatment, and is congruent with the bio/psycho/social/spiritual model of social work practice utilizing a strengths perspective.
There is an additional fee for the 4.5 CEUs of $15 and a form has to be filled out and submitted.
This 3 credit college course is also offered on a regular basis as an EasternOnline course in the Summer and Winter terms.
