Mission Statement

Welcome to the Center for Internships and Career Development.  Our office provides advising and resources to actively engage students in the lifelong process of career development.  Our mission is to encourage students to:

  • Explore the process of self-evaluation and career exploration by utilizing our 4-Year-Plan Flier;
  • Network and engage with employers through career programs and career fairs;
  • Participate in pre-professional and experiential learning opportunities, such as internships, co-ops, joining clubs and organizations and taking part in volunteer activities;
  • Engage in office programs to acquire integrative skills connected to goal setting, life planning and the internship and job search process.
The Center for Internships and Career Development is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

In addition to our professional staff, the office employs an extensive student staff.  Career Assistants provide direct customer care and assistance.  Peer Counselors facilitate educational programming in the residence halls, for student clubs and organizations and in the Career Sphere.  Our Employer Relations and Research interns recruit employers to participate in on-campus hiring events and identify internship and employment opportunities.  Our Graphic Designer and Communication and Social Media interns work collaboratively to market and promote the services and programs our office provides..
