- What is this competition about?
This competition is an opportunity for students to
propose ideas for viable tech startups in Connecticut mill towns. Organizations
and investor angels from across the State of Connecticut will be attending and voting on their favorite
proposals. Students will have the opportunity to speak with professionals and obtain feedback on their
startup proposals. Be sure to bring your resumes and business cards!
- What are the event details?
Date: Nov. 15, 2012
Time: Set-up is from 2:00 PM - 2:45 PM; display time is from
3:00 PM - 5:30 PM.
Awards ceremony is at 5:30 PM
Location: Johnson Room, Smith Library (room 204), ECSU, 258 High St, Willimantic CT, 06226
To participate, you must be a student at a participating
college or university.
- Does it cost anything?
There is no registration fee. The only cost you may incur is for your display supplies.
(Display boards will be provided by your respective school.
- Why should I participate?
This is an excellent opportunity! You can obtain
feedback from entrepreneurs, investor angels, and other
business/technology professionals. You might even get an
offer to work at a current Connecticut tech startup or
other innovative organizations!
Plus, awards look great on a resume and / or funding
applications.
- Are there any restrictions for my exhibit?
Yes! Your poster display cannot be larger than 20"x30"
Use your imagination and your startup idea to attract
organizations to your poster display and obtain votes to win the
competition. Be sure to get feedback on your startup
proposal!
- Will I be excused from class for this event?
In most cases, yes, but please check with your professor
before you miss class. You must also pick up an excusal
form at the event to verify to your professor your participation in the event.
