Spring 2011 Project:
Windham's No-Freeze Hospitality Center provides overnight shelter to individuals in the Windham area during cold nights of the year,
September through April. To better assess area homeless needs and situations, this system designed and built by a BIS 377 team in Spring
2011 will be able to collect and report information on repeat visits, underlying economic and social causes, and visitor conditions. The
system facilitates quick perusing of time and date availability and contact information for volunteers, to enable more efficient oversight
of the Non-Freeze facility. During harsh winter storms, a greater number of people seek warm shelter and weather conditions can warrant
providing food and other services within the facilities. This requires staffers and volunteers to be able to quickly round up extra help
and resources, which this system enables.
